Meanwhile, Gavin has Victor Shaw held captive in The Drake's boiler room with Kandinsky torturing him to give up the location of the red box. Shaw, however, shockingly reveals to Gavin his knowledge of what really happened to his daughter, Sasha, and threatens to tell Olivia. Jane is missing. Henry is desperate to find her. He has no idea Jane is standing in the middle of Times Square. The place is completely empty which leads us to believe this isn’t the “real” Times Square. A handful of people walk by. An elderly woman says, “You shouldn’t have come here.” The odd thing is that she never opens her mouth. It’s as if Jane is reading her mind. Suddenly, Jane is back in the middle of the real Times Square with all of its hustle and bustle. She’s reunited with Henry at the hospital after have gone through something that has left her visibly shaken.

The doctor believes Jane is blocking out something traumatic. She needs to stay in the hospital for 48 hours. Jane freaks out when a nurse tries to take her blood pressure as she’s having flashbacks about events and people from the past. Henry can only watch helplessly as the woman he loves is sedated. In her hazy state, Jane hears the nurses talking about another patient, Julian Waters, who had a similar freak out episode a month ago. The guy was screaming something about a spiral staircase. He was found wandering the streets just like Jane.

Nona asks Detective Cooper to give Jane an envelope. Inside is her grandmother’s necklace. There’s also the photo of the young Jane inside. Henry catches Detective Cooper giving Jane a long hug in the hospital. Later, Jane is forced to take some pills by Nurse Potter. This doesn’t stop her from sneaking out of her room in a hazy state. She makes her way into the high security wing of the hospital to Julian Waters. The guy claims he came up the spiral staircase in the basement of the Drake. During a second visit, Jane finds Julian hanging by a noose. He opens his eyes. Julian says, “You shouldn’t have come here.”

She finds the ring Henry was going to give her but doesn’t let on that she knows he wants to propose. Nona is relieved to see that Jane is back. She thinks a woman named Maris can help her remember what happened when she went down the staircase. The image Jane saw in Julian’s room is also present outside this Maris woman’s apartment. Jane must meet with her. Alone.

Alexis tells him the universe wants them to be together. She also claims to be the reason why he’s suddenly writing up a storm.

Synopsis

Jane disappears without a trace, forcing a despondent Henry to worry for her safety and sanity. When she suddenly pops up in the middle of Times Square dazed and confused and is taken to a hospital for observation, Jane discovers that a horrible fate may be waiting for her there. Meanwhile, Gavin has Victor Shaw held captive in The Drake's boiler room with Kandinsky torturing him to give up the location of the red box. Shaw, however, shockingly reveals to Gavin his knowledge of what really happened to his daughter, Sasha, and threatens to tell Olivia. Finally, to Brian's dismay, he discovers that unless he is with Alexis, his creativity vanishes.
